Stange 19.05.2011 ES
The resurrected life with Christ
Romans 6.5: For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection.
He is the first born of the death; Col.1.18. He is the firstborn among many brethren; Rom.8.29: He was the firstborn to get sisters and brothers; to give the same life he has to others, so they can be born again and be new creations.
What is new with the new creation? I still look the same. Many times I feel the same.
To be honest I really don’t feel good all the time… Can I say that I am a new creation with good conscience? Do I really not lie when I say: the old things are past away; behold new things have come.
What is new then?
I got the life of God inside. The resurrected life of Jesus lives inside of me.
Romans 8.10: And if Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.
The new life inside of me was not there before, but because I by grace by faith invited Him to come; he entered in: praise be to His glorious name!
What old is gone? -The condemned sinner I; my old self. -Romans 6.6; we were crucified with Him. We were crucified with Him, died with Him, were buried with Him. We are finished with old self through His death.
One is dead for all, therefore -they all are dead. 2. Cor.5.14
You are all dead and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Col.3.3
I, the new creation I is not condemned because the new creation I has no sin and can’t sin. We can say it like this; the new creation I or you is complete as far as it has come. But on the other hand, we can’t say that we are never sinning, because then we are liars according to Peter. – And when we do sin, then we need to cleanse up by asking about forgiveness again and repent!
Sin made me to be a prisoner, a slave (Rom.6.20) I was a slave to sin and death. (Rom 6.23)
But through the death of Christ the sinner I (old self) died; Romans 6. The one who was slave to sin died. When did that happen? Our old self was crucified with Him, when he was crucified. He bore our sins in his body on the cross. 1 Peter 2.24: he himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we also practically shall die to sin and live to righteousness.
Roman 6.10: For the death that he died, he died to sin, once for all; but the life that He lives , he lives to God.
The resurrected life of Jesus is inside of me, therefore I can be an overcomer in daily life. Rom.8.37 and 1.Cor.15.57
Suffering is like a tool to Christlikeness.
Romans 8.36
2. Cor.4.7-12
We were slaves to sin but shall now present our members as slaves to righteousness. (Romans 8.19)
We are freed from sin and enslaved to God. (Romans.6.22)
Because we still do have the flesh, we do have a battle every day.
But:
Romans 6.7: He who has died is freed from sin.
Romans 6.8: If we died with Christ, we know that we shall also live with Him.
In me as I am: Spirit, soul and body I have two different laws working. In my members the law of sin and death is present, but in my very innermost being another law is working: The law of spirit and life.
So to live the resurrected life with Christ is to work on the new inner man to be strong.2.Cor.4.16. Learn to live according to the law of spirit and life. Then I put to death the deeds of the body, by the spirit (Romans 8.13) -Then I live by the spirit and do not anymore carry out the desire of the flesh (Galatians.5.16.)
Romans 8.6, Romans 12.1, Hebr.12.2: Fixing our eyes on Jesus.
The flesh is not dead; that is a fact we know from daily life. But; we are not under obligation to the flesh anymore (Romans 8.12)
We are not only simply resurrected with Him, but we are seated with Him in the heavenly places far above all the powers in the heavenly realms. That is our position in the battle. Ephesians 1.20-23 and Ephesians 2.4-6: God made us alive together with Christ and seated us with Him.
Spiritual death is exchanged with spiritual life. I am in a totally different situation now; from not having relationship with God TO HAVE IT.
We are supposed to continuously look into the mirror; I continue to do it; then I will be a doer of the gospel.
James.1.25
The final victory: 1. Cor.15. 53-58 (47-58)
Romans 6.22: I am freed from sin and enslaved to God for deriving the benefit/ to get the benefit out of it; sanctification and eternal life!
(-1.Cor.3.21-23: All things belong to me! Wow)
I am resurrected with Him to live the resurrected life.
Galatians 2.20: I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and delivered Himself up for me.
